Last One

I have my last chemotherapy session planned for the June 22. I have received several inquiries into how I am going to celebrate/mark this particular event. The purpose of this post is get some ideas of things I could do. There is not any parameters for the marking of this event. Some of the ideas so far have been wear something crazy to the last session. (gorilla suit, or some kind of superhero outfit...), going skydiving or any other extreme activity (I think chemo used up all nine lives), getting a tattoo (nope),  other people have talked about throwing a party or going on a trip (doing both, but neither is really is exactly what I am looking for here.)

I am available for comments directly to the blog, or FB. You can also call, or text. I am also willing to parlay two semi good ideas into one great idea. (like eating food in the shower).

  1. New license plate. Or a new car. Or parlay- new car with a new license plate. (Inspired by your first blog with the car plates)

Get a doll or draw a picture, name it cancer and then destroy it.

Give it back. Go around to rooms where people are getting chemo and tell them you are done and cancer free and it can happen for them too.

Shave your head- not because you are worried of losing it, but because it's now your choice. You are calling the shots. Or dye it, then shave it.

Save your last bag of barf and keep it in the freezer for one year. In one year take it out and... Plant it with a tree? Flush it? Dump it in the parking lot at the cancer center? (inspired by wedding cake in the freezer idea)

Make a shirt with the cancer pic you on the back, the clean inside you on the front and wear it for your last day.

Or picture with of you with cancer and have a bonfire. Or hook it on a sky lantern (from the Rapunzel movie Tangled). We did a couple and they are huge and cool. FYI- do it by water.

I'm excited to hear what you come up with
